All summer long, Tourism Winnipeg will be showing you ways to save your summer in Winnipeg.
Relax, unwind and de-stress in nature this summer. There is no better place to experience Winnipeg's great outdoors than at FortWhyte Alive, Winnipeg's incredible urban nature reserve.
Our Summer Saved hosts Cody Chomiak and Sarah Robinson chat with Carolyn Townend, Communications and Brand Manager for FortWhyte Alive about some of the experiences available to visitors this summer.
“Starting July 1, we're gonna have so many things on site for folks to do,” says Townend. “We're going to do Habitat Secrets, which will bring you through different ecosystems and point out wildlife that you can see on site and how they've kind of adapted to make FortWhyte their home as well.”
Plus, you can explore FortWhyte Alive’s five sheltered lakes by hopping into a canoe.
“There's also a ton of rentals. So you can you can book a canoe, you can book a bike and just find different ways to explore the trails and the site altogether.”
“We're kind of like this little natural oasis in the middle of the city.”
See their calendar for dates featuring new activities like baby Bison walks, edible plant workshops and more all summer long.
