This month-long celebration of the world's favourite flavour brings out the playful side of top Winnipeg chefs as they push boundaries with their cocoa creations.
Possible stories include:
Chocolatey Textures: Chefs are doubling up on rich chocolate flavours by contrasting textures. New participant Little Goat layers a crunchy chocolate hazelnut bark with chocolate orange mousse, while Corrientes stuffs a crispy empanada with Nutella then tops it with chocolate ice cream and ganache. Or, create your own combination by mixing and matching favourites in a custom assortment box from Mordens’ of Winnipeg.
SWEET AND SIPPABLE: See how eateries are using chocolate to create intriguing boozy beverages, such as cacao infused bourbon mixed on ice with chocolate liqueur at Saddlery, or a chocolate cherry Bailey's milkshake at The Oakwood. For a kid-friendly delight, the Oreo chip or double chocolate chip slushes at Panda Tea are featured as 2 for $7.
