The Black Hole Theatre Company is excited to invite you to Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss.
Welcome to Charenton Asylum, France 1808; the Marquis de Sade, an incarcerated nobleman, has written and is staging a dramatization of the assassination of political writer Jean-Paul Marat at the hands of Charlotte Corday, with the patients of the asylum performing all the roles.
Much to the chagrin of the aristocratic audience, Sade’s supposed drama therapy performance devolves into complete anarchy.
