With a highly recognized brand, a new location at The Forks, and a brand-new deal that now sees their candles being sold at Sephora, Coal and Canary Candle Company is certainly one Winnipeg business that is truly on the money.
How fitting then, that they are also now working with Canada’s Royal Canadian Mint, the place where money is actually made!
As we like to say, all the tours, experiences and gifts you can find at The Mint are worth every penny, never dime a dozen, and set the gold standard (we tell you, despite the current dollar, Canadian currency puns are always converting well), so we are thrilled to see this new partnership between them and Coal and Canary, which will see a new scented candle that you can exclusively buy at The Mint.
And this Saturday, July 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Mint, you can attend this exclusive launch party where you can be one of the first ones to get your hands on this new line from Coal and Canary.
If you can’t make it this Saturday, that’s cool, as you’ll be able to purchase this new candle throughout summer in The Mint’s gift shop, while let’s not forget that The Mint is perhaps the most worldly attraction in Canada!
In fact, there are nearly more reasons to visit than countries which The Mint has produced coins for – which is approximately 75, all the flags of which you’ll drive through as you approach this fabulous-looking facility.
Yes, you read that correctly. Not only does The Mint produce coins for Canadian circulation, but it also does so for many places across the globe – all of which you will learn about when you go on their tour.
Over one billion coins are produced here each year, while they can produce 20 million coins daily (that's 16 coins per second), a state-of-the-art process you can see for yourself when you visit.
Tours of The Mint -- which are available in English and French -- also provide a lesson in Canadian, world, and pop culture history – with limited-edition coins depicting everything from Star Wars, DC Comics, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and all manner of important moments in Canadian history.
On the tour, you'll learn about how and why many of these coins are made, and how the past, present and future of Canada's heritage are reflected in the design of our currency.
There is also a fun interactive trivia area where you test your knowledge of coins around the world, along with the opportunity to hold a real gold bar that is worth more than $500,000 – which is really quite heavy.
Needless to say, the place is a real treat for kids – but don’t take our word for it, just check out all these rave reviews on Trip Advisor.
