Imagine yourself on this sweet ride this summer on a Downtown Winnipeg Biz Moveable Feast Tour (Downtown Winnipeg Biz)

Downtown Winnipeg Biz has a tour for you!

By: Only in the Peg // May 1, 2018 // Sports & Recreation, Tours

Whether you are into bikes, brunch, cocktails, Caesars, patios, wine, beer, history – or all of the above – Downtown Winnipeg Biz has a tour for you!

Throughout summer – and in fact, the whole year (depending on which tour you are looking for) – Downtown Winnipeg Biz becomes the host with the most when it comes to discovering the best of Winnipeg’s city centre on foot (or bike!).

This is a great video of my bike tour pals after we stopped to check out @winnipegpubliclibrary's Nuit Blanche activities! #nuitblanchewpg #finditdowntown

Starting with the most important meal of the day, the Breakfast Tour (June 25, July 29, August 19, September 23) will take you through a three-course brunch at such gems as ERA at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights – where the dishes use ingredients that are sustainable, often locally sourced and always fair trade, Blaze Restaurant and Lounge – which has a superb eggs Benny, The Original Pancake House, Resto 12, Café Bella, The Fyxx or Prairie 360 – where you’ll be able to see the whole city as you dine. The tour takes approximately three hours (starting at 9 a.m.) and will feature three stops.

Winnipeg is one of the sunniest cities in Canada, and one of the best ways to feel those rays of joy is on a downtown patio. The Patio Crawl (May 18, June 8, July 6 & 13, August 3, 10, & 17) makes for one sublime evening, with four stops at patios that will include either The Keg, Rudy’s Eat and Drink, Carbone Coal Fired Pizza, Earls, Moxie’s, and The MET – whose rooftop patio overlooks Bell MTS Place. Tours start at 5:30 p.m. and run until approximately 10 p.m.

What a great night! Thank you to everybody who joined us and all of our great host restaurants Little Sister Coffee Co, @whitestardiner @the_fyxx_espresso_bar @edokkowpg @bestwesternwinnipeg Join us! www.downtownwinnipegtours.com

If you are thirsty to discover what downtown has to offer, may we suggest the Tap In (June 1 and September 14) or Winnipeg Wine (May 25, August 24, & September 21) tour? You should have no trouble drafting some friends for the former, which includes pitchers and apps at three to four locations that include Carbone, Garbonzo’s Pizza Pub, White Star, Rudy’s, Shannon’s Irish Pub, Izakaya Edokko, Moxie’s, and downtown’s gourmet burger bar, the Tipsy Cow.

As to you oenophiles, for $85 the wine stops include three stops – where you’ll receive two glasses and small plates – at some of the city’s best restaurants. This could include debonair rooms like Carne Italian Chophouse and the VG Lounge (inside the Fairmont), and the always lively Merchant Kitchen inside the Alt Hotel Winnipeg. Coming to the city this summer and looking to add this to your itinerary? You can make it an all-inclusive package for two people for $285, which combines the Wine Tour with an overnight stay at a luxurious hotel.

Being part of a bike posse is pretty much the jauntiest way to conquer a city, and the über popular Moveable Feast (June 18, July 31, August 17, September 29) allows you to do just that, all while eating your way through five different restaurant menus. For $50, you’ll stop at locations that can/will include Café 22, East India Company, Little Sister Coffee Maker, Oh Doughnuts, Shannon’s Irish Pub, Thom Bargen, Carbone, Café Bella, Garbonzo’s, White Star Dinner, and perhaps even Promenade Café and Wine, which will involve crossing the Esplande Riel into St. Boniface.

Please note, this tour is BYOBike, but that's no problem for all you tourists. Starting today (May 1, 2018), Downtown Winnipeg Biz has expanded their "Pedal in the Peg" program and now anybody can rent a sweet Downtown Biz cruiser which comes with a helmet, lights, lock, and a cycling map! These bikes are available from the ALT Hotel, Holiday Inn & Suites, Delta Hotel, and from City Hall. Learn more about this great program here.

All the above tours are $40 unless otherwise listed, while this is just a sampling of all the fabulous tours that are on offer from Downtown Winnipeg Biz this summer. Be sure to check out their full listing here and book your spot today!
