Prepare to be transported to an awe-inspiring winter wonderland at Parks Canada Place at The Forks National Historic Site: Ice Castles has arrived.
We got a sneak peek prior to the grand opening on Friday, January 5 at 4 p.m. and everything you’ve heard is true. All of it. It’s incredible.
As you walk through the grand entrance to the castles, you'll be greeted by the “Enchanted Frozen Sisters" (Saturdays & Sundays: 1-4 p.m.) before making your way through an array of tunnels completely surrounded by icicles hanging from the ceiling and walls and embedded with an array of LED lights that change colour constantly.
There are fountains that send steaming water dancing into the air, ice rooms hidden in various corners and of course, a fully enclosed ice slide (you’ll want to do it over and over again!).
On Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10 p.m. you’ll be treated to fire performances that include fire breathing, spinning, hula, and more
You can take part in this magical experience now until March 2018, depending on weather conditions. Don’t forget to share your Ice Castles experiences -- use the hashtag #onlyinthepeg and #icecastles.
