Winnipeg street trucks will strut their stuff this Friday during a parking lot party and graphic design festival/battle.

Sis and Me, Pizzapotamos and Little Bones Wingery will sell their specialties and may engage in an Iron-Chef street-food fight as part of the action at the Iron Dragon Super Mash-Up this Friday, September 28 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

The mash-up is part of the city's newest event, the Winnipeg Design Festival. The mash-up is also part of WAG's 100-year celebration, which officially kicks off Saturday September 29 with an all-night open house, fashion show and party at the gallery.

Friday's Iron Dragon Mash-Up starts at 8 p.m. with a free presentation by the Globe and Mail's architecture critic and curator of online think tank citylab, com, Lisa Rochon.

At 10 p.m. the party busts loose in Eckhart Hall with a live, interactive graphic-design competition that pits keyboard whizzes in a head-to-head (or Mac-to-Mac) quick-draw contest.

Meanwhile, Tourism Winnipeg and the folks behind Peg City Grub will be on hand giving away free T-shirts.

Peg City Grub will also be giving a live video tour of the food trucks and providing colour culinary commentary. Guests will get a behind-the-scenes look inside these kitchens on wheels and you'll meet some of the hard-working street vendors who have made Winnipeg's 2012 street-food scene an amazing success this year.
