I can do the Can-can! -

I can do the Can-can!

I can do the Can-can!

By: Only in the Peg // May 1, 2013 // Performing Arts

I love the ballet. The sights, the sounds, the music, the costumes--it's all just like being a fairytale wonderland from the first note to the last.

And c'mon who didn't dream of becoming a ballerina at some point in their lives? It's like fulfulling that childhood fantasy without having to do all the hard work of, you know, actually learning how to dance.

Tonight is opening night of the illustrious Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Moulin Rouge--an original production done by the company.

This is the second time they've run it (and yes, I have tickets to see it again... I told you... I LOVE the ballet), and I'm so thrilled to be revisiting this colourful energetic number.

It features French period music, tons of glitter, two star-crossed lovers and a whole lot of fiery passion. If you don't have your tickets yet, then I'm not exactly sure why, but here's the link so you can catch up with the rest of us cultured people.

And when you leave, I defy you not to be humming that tune (you know the one I mean) all night long.

Can-can, can you do the can-can... do do do do do....
