If you are an awesome retail chain, Polo Park is the place you want to be in.
Correspondingly, it is a shopper's dream. A place that provides more mall therapy than anywhere on the prairies with brands as big as the Manitoba skies.
In the past year alone Polo Park's roster has grown to an embarrassment of riches, with a lineup that now includes Anthropologie, Apple, Michael Kors, Coach, Urban Outfitters, Disney, and most recently, LEGO.
And guess what girls, guys and parents out there, the new school year is so close that you can almost hear that bell. Which only means one thing: it's time to do some back-to-school shopping -- which Missus Peg is ready to relish.
Let's start with H & M, where you can get the coolest kids' clothes along with some winning looks for you parents. For instance, check out these kids' fashions, those girls rabbit pants and sweaters are so #adorable they make adult baboons look like baby orangutans. And how about those prices? Long sleeves for $5.99 and treggings (which is apparently a more sophisticated legging) for $12.99. Get outta' here, I'll take the lot for Lil Peg's back to school wardrobe.
While I'm there I'll pick up some new business clothes for Mister Peg for the office, along with this amazing patterned sweatshirt for myself (like seriously, tigers? Yes please).
From there, it's on to Anthropolgie where my college age niece and I are going to do a little fashion show for each other. Whenever I step into Anthro (which is what us gals in the know call it) I just want to ask their store designers to redo my house. Everything is so whimsical, while still being so sophisticated. The dresses, the beds, the doorknobs, and the accessories... I tell you, if you put a fox on it I'll buy it, but these tie backs are what my living room is craving (especially with my cream coloured curtains I picked up at Bed, Bath & Beyond this spring).
And how about that brand new LEGO store? I tell you, aside from occasionally stepping on those errant pieces, LEGO is a parent's best friend. I'd much rather see Lil building a mini world with LEGO than having screen time on mommy's iPad -- which I got for Christmas from Mister from Polo Park's Apple Store, whose Geniuses hooked me up with the latest operating system.
I tell you, that is just one of the many awesome things about Polo Park -- that being you can get so much done in one area, as they have such a diverse range of shops, from electronics, to clothes, to home accessories.
And I haven't even mentioned what a nice environment it is to shop in. The whole mall is bright and spacious, allowing you to spend hours on end there (which I've often done when my gal pals come to town to do some shopping) without feeling like you've been shut indoors all day.
Plus, as Mister Peg points out, the furniture throughout the mall is plush, so when he (and all the other husbands out there) get a little tired of following us shopoholics around, he can find a comfy perch to do some people watching.
But really, who am I kidding, every time he said he was going to go have a sit down I would come back to find him with at least three new vinyl records from Urban Outfitters -- after which I would tell him that I still needed to go to Urbs (which us in the know call it) to pick up a new cell phone case.
Anyway, I could go on about just how much there is at Polo, from the Fossil bag I picked up for Mister last year, to the charms I always get from Pandora for my sister, to the Disney Store, which is my go-to for birthday presents for my nephews.
So just go check it out for yourself, you won't be able to do back-to-school shopping like this anywhere else. We're lucky to have such an institution, while every time we are hosting guests from out of town, they always ask, when are we hitting Polo Park?
Happy shopping.
