Break out of your at-home routine at The Real Escape

By: Only in the Peg // March 18, 2021 // Attractions, Family Fun

In our latest Here for It video, hosts Cody and Sarah escape their at-home routine by visiting one of Winnipeg’s highly-acclaimed escape room experiences, The Real Escape.

All their questions are answered by Ashley Feightner, the General Manager of The Real Escape who takes them through some of their most popular rooms.

Check it out in the video below

Know before you go

The Real Escape has made adjustments to their operations in order to ensure proper distancing and keep everyone safe.

Most importantly, guests need to book in advance, either online or by phone. “We are asking guests to fill out waivers prior to arrival just to minimize the amount of time they are in our shared common areas,” says Feightner.

Masks are also required at all times in the facility. Cleaning and sanitizing measures have been ramped up. This includes disinfecting all room props, clues, locks, and keys between parties as well as using an electrostatic sprayer so no surface is missed.

The Real Escape has seven rooms to escape from.

Ashley walks us through their adventure-themed room, The Ruins, before taking us to The Abandoned Station, which is set in a New York subway car. Feightner explains the concept; “Essentially inspired by one of the 1960s Batman shows, you are trying to stop a super villain from taking over the city.”

Ashley ends off the tour at the Oz room, where she challenges Cody and Sarah to rescue the little dog Toto from the wicked old witch before the storm brewing in the distance reaches them.
