So far, it feels like 2020 has stolen the plot of a poorly written B-list horror movie starring an Ansel Elgort lookalike. From murder hornets, to desert locust invasions and even fire tornados, you’re probably wondering how things could get any scarier.
Luckily, so many of our favourite haunted attractions are rising (from the dead) to the occasion and finding ways to celebrate the spooky season safely.
Six Pines
Say goodbye to long lines as Six Pines is now offering time-based ticketing. Grab your ghouls and plan your scares in advance by purchasing online before you go. This year, Fear By Night is showcasing three haunted houses – with the cabin fever house feeling all too familiar to how we felt this past April.
For those looking for spooks a little less frightening, Six Pines is offering three Ghoul Flashlight Haunted Experiences this October where you can enjoy the haunts with a flashlight and no pop-up scares.
Open October 8 to October 31, 2020.
Heebie Jeebies
With the most frightening 70,000 sq. ft. in Winnipeg, Heebie Jeebies showcases macabre mazes and some of the creepiest characters we’ve ever encountered. This year, it is bringing you to hell and back and you even get a free mask to prove it.
Buy your tickets online and pick your time slot ahead of time and experience carnival games, fireworks and photo-ops on top of the usual haunts.
Open October 8 to October 31, 2020.
A Maze in Corn
Lend us your ears! Our favourite corn maze is still shuckin’ and even without pop-out scares, getting lost in this labyrinth can be frightening – especially in the dark. After that, enter The Haunted Forest at your own risk and watch as the creatures within come to life around you.
This spooky spot is kid-friendly during the day, but cranks up the creepy after dark.
Open October 2 to November 1, 2020.
Al Benesocky’s Shock House
Winnipeg’s haunted warehouse is back for its second year in a row after giving some serious scares last year. The industrial warehouse on Poplar Avenue is yet again transformed, this time with plexiglass, distancing guides and limited entries along with the extremely wicked details inside. No money back if you get too scared.
Open for 12 nights starting October 15, 2020.
Deer Meadow Farms
The Forbidden Forest and Haunted Hayrides are back for another season of screams at Deer Meadow Farms. With new life-size sets being added to this 15-acre forest, you’re going to want to check out this paranormal place.
Open October 16, 2020 to October 31, 2020.
