The first of Winnipeg’s golf courses, Kildonan Park has a history that dates back to 1921. Golf in that era was largely unknown to most Manitobans. Courses like Kildonan played an integral role in the introduction of the game in the province and its subsequent growth in popularity. Over a period of eight decades this course has gained respect as one of the province’s best mid length, medium difficulty courses. Its location on the west bank of the Red River provides for vibrant, lush vegetation that only time can bestow on a golf course.

The course’s fairways and greens have a reputation for being in superb condition year after year. This is a testament to the maintenance staff given that Kildonan is consistently among courses doing the highest number of rounds in the Winnipeg market. By today’s standards this relatively short course is quite challenging. Four of five par threes play over 200 yards. The other par three at 137 yards is perhaps the most difficult and certainly the most memorable. On this hole a railway bridge cuts across the fairway providing a unique hazard. It provides for a tricky tee shot deciding whether to go over or under.

Kildonan Park, located adjacent to the golf course is a popular tourist destination. Picnic spots, athletic fields, a skating pond and the famous Rainbow Stage open-air theatre are popular park attractions. Kildonan Park Golf Course provides: - Fully stocked pro shop - On course beverage service - Equipment rentals - Tournament packages - Lessons by USGTF certified instructor - 3 day advance tee time booking
