The RBC Convention Centre plays host to one of the biggest NYE bashes on the prairies every year -- and 2014 is no exception. This year it is all about Hollywood Glam, and they'll be featuring a red carpet reception (so you can enter in style), along with a five-course dinner and dancing into the early hours. You can also tailor your tickets to what experience you are looking for. For instance: with the Reserved Table Package for eight you get dinner and dance tickets, plus two bottles of wine for the table, all for a cool grand. You can also inquire for accommodating a larger party if you are looking to bring a big crowd.

The RBC Convention Centre is also combining with the Delta Hotel (connected via the heated skywalk) with a $448.00 couples' package that gets you a night's stay in a ModeRoom along with dinner and dance tickets. And, if you are just looking to do dinner and dancing, it's $130 per person, or $50 for just the dancing portion of the evening (available after 9 p.m.).
Also right in the heart of downtown, The Radisson Hotel is hosting the "Dress Up, Get Down, Rock in 2015 New Years Eve Dinner and Dance" with live entertainment featuring Ricki Redbone & the Flashbacks, along with Argentine tango between sets. General tickets are $100 and include a four-course meal.
For foodies
Set menus are generally the norm on NYE, with some of the city's top chefs looking to do their best work. For a fine dinning experience, book now at the Velvet Glove, located in The Fairmont Winnipeg. Executive Chef Eraj Jayawickreme does wonders in the kitchen, and on the 31st starting at 7:30 p.m. they'll be featuring an eight-course meal with exclusive wine pairings from their sommelier.

If a set menu isn't your thing, check out Segovia, arguably Winnipeg's most critically acclaimed restaurant. They never take reservations, but they will be for just this one night -- so book now, as it will fill fast, and surely chef Adam Donnelly will have some extra tasty tapas dishes up his sleeve.
For the cool kids
Winnipeg's coolest new beer-bar/coffee shop/pizza place/live music venue/everything-that-counts-as-hip-these-days, The Goodwill Social Club, will be throwing a party for $25 headlined by The Noble Thiefs (and nope, that is not a typo). If you are new to the city, or visiting from out-of-town and want to know where to find hip 20- to 30-somethings, then this is the spot for you. It all starts at 10 p.m.
Equally hip (it even features some of the owners from The Goodwill) is the party going on at Union Sound Hall in the Exchange District. The "Union Sound Ball" will feature all five of the venue's owners in front of the turn tables (they are all DJs) dropping party jams, along with food from chef Jon Hochman (Fitzroy/Sherbrook Street Delicatessen), and complimentary champagne and party favours. The Forks brings the best of family fun in the winter (Tourism Winnipeg)
For the whole family
The Forks is the place to be for a full evening of family-oriented fun. Live entertainment starts at 5 p.m. on The Main Stage in The Forks Market with The Revivals, Laura Mitchell (at 6 p.m.) then the Nobel Thiefs' (who, as you can see above, are playing two shows on NYE).
For your little ones, there will be kids art activities with the fine folks from Art City from 5-7 p.m. (in the Market near the Tower Elevator), where they can get their face painted then create their own masterpieces with a helping hand.
There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides from 4-7 p.m. which can take your family around the site to see the festive lights, while the big light show -- that being fireworks by three-time World Champions Archangel Fireworks -- starts at 8 p.m. And of course, there is also skating under the canopy and the many other attractions that Manitoba's number one tourist draw has on offer.
