Our Here for It hosts Cody and Sarah reach new heights at Winnipeg’s first bouldering-only facility, the brand new The Hive Climbing and Fitness.
Showing our hosts just how easy it is to get vertical is The Hive’s Managing Partner, Kori Cuthbert. Check it out in the video below.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
For those ready to try out this brand new, five-star climbing experience (there are no ropes or harnesses, just some climbing shoes, liquid chalk and some safety mats) you’ll need to book your climb time in advance on The Hive's app or website.
“We're also requiring that all members and participants come in they wash their hands and sanitize before they get on the wall and they wear a mask while they're climbing, as well so that they're not breathing on the holes,” says Cuthbert.
Helpful staff will get you set up with rental climbing shoes if needed and in orientation, you’ll learn the basics on how to drop off the wall.
Not only does The Hive aim to challenge you physically, but there is also a mental aspect involved in these climbs.
“It's problem-solving. You're going up on the wall and trying to figure out how our route setters are making you work out essentially.”
