The city’s most authentic and smallest Japanese restaurant and market comes courtesy of chef Masa Sugita, the former co-owner of Yujiro who is one of the city’s sushi pioneers. For lunch, find classic rolls and bowls of shoyu and miso ramen, while dinner features what Sugita has brought in from Japanese waters, along with Canada's coasts and the North Sea (you'll note the country of origin of the sashimi will be listed on the chalk board menu). Sugita also sells a range of high-end products from Japan in the adjacent shop, including A5 wagyu, uni, shiso and fruits.
