This slender little operation in Charleswood was opened in February 2024 by the trio of Sasithorn Thorsteinson (who goes by Nan), Angkul Muensuk (who goes by Thon) and Kristjan (Kris) Thorsteinson. Kris runs the front of house, while Nan (his wife) and Thon produce vibrant dishes in the kitchen that are indicative of their hometowns of Chang Mai and Chiang Rai. With more focus on Northern Thai cuisine across the menu, the rich, silky khao soi is a must-order, along with the housemade Chiang Mai sausage (sai ua) that is only available when Thon can make it. Thailand’s greatest hits like pad Thai, laab issan, and panang curry all feature too on a menu that many locals now call Winnipeg’s most-authentic Thai restaurant.
