Jason Smith - SMITH EVENTS 

For more than 25 years, Jason Smith has been a leader in developing and managing major events and festivals, many of them top draws for tourism in Winnipeg, including the 2014 Junos, 2016 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic, the 2017 Canada Summer Games Festival, Winnipeg Whiteout Street Parties and ManyFest. He is currently CEO of Manitoba 150, where he leads the creation of programs like Illuminate 150 and the Explore 150 app, which beckons people to the city. 

Normand Gousseau - ENTERPRISES RIEL  - AWARD WINNER

Normand Gousseau has worked tirelessly to boost Winnipeg’s tourism offerings for more than 30 years making him a leader in the community. As CEO of Enterprises Riel, he has been an advisor, facilitator and advocate in bilingual business and tourism development initiatives. He led the province’s Francophone cultural and tourism strategy and fostered economic development projects such as the Taché Promenade, a year-round St. Norbert Farmers’ Market, a major documentary film and so much more. He has also received numerous awards acknowledging his dedication and countless volunteer hours. 

Tara Stefansson - LAZY BEAR EXPEDITIONS 

As Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Lazy Bear Expeditions, Tara Stefansson demonstrates vision in growing Winnipeg’s tourism industry by extending its Churchill tours to include pre- and post-Winnipeg visits; these provide valuable room nights for the city’s hotel community. From sponsoring trips to promote Winnipeg, to providing leadership and guidance as a member of several tourism committees, her passion has contributed to the growth of tourism for all of Manitoba.
