Taking the form of a large-scale artists’ book, Layered Histories: Perspectives on Colonization from the Chaco by Miriam Rudolph explores the many different experiences of colonization processes in the Paraguayan Chaco, from the perspectives of Enxet and Enlhet Indigenous peoples, Anglican missionaries, and Mennonite settlers. Lending itself to comparison and reflection, Layered Histories invites questioning of our collective and individual biases, perceptions, and our understanding of history, challenging us to decolonize our thinking.
