Presented by Gallery 1C03 The University of Winnipeg
Throughout Spring of 2021, Gallery 1C03 is pleased to host SWARM, an online exhibition program of the SWARM artist collective.
In addition to a film screening, performance, public discussions, and community workshops, SWARM includes the launch of a digital exhibition on May 1 that features the work of 9 artist-researchers who explore possibilities for building cross-species networks of care and kinship through beading technologies, digital interfaces, embroidery, sculpture, storytelling, sound and performance works.
Artworks are created by: Dallas Cant, Roewan Crowe, Lorena Sekwan Fontaine, Franchesca Hebert-Spence, Helga Jakobson, Kaliesa Beasse McGillvray, Hailey Primrose, Willow Rector, and Maram Rocha. This project, partially funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant, is based out of the greenhouse artlab at the University of Winnipeg.
