Fireside Food: Cozy up with Blaze Restaurant's new winter menu

Hidden gem in Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg is so much more than a pre-hockey game destination

By: Carly Peters in partnership with Peg City Grub and Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg // November 12, 2019

It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas. Blaze Restaurant and Lounge Executive Chef Edison Antejos is conjuring up all the festive feels with a new winter lunch and dinner menu full of reworked holiday favourites.

Settle in next to the dining room’s fireplace and begin with a steamy bowl of aromatic maple coconut pumpkin bisque topped of foam cream and fresh herbs. Don’t forget to sop up those last drops with the flaky pastry twist.

If you’re stopping in for lunch try Chef Antejos’ mid-day take on a traditional turkey – house-made cornbread topped with tart tomato jam, cranberry bacon, arugula, and shaved turkey smothered in pan gravy. The open-faced sandwich can be pre-ordered, as can other lunchtime options, so it’s hot and ready right at noon.

The evening sees some heartier fare with a roasted honey glazed turkey leg and breast alongside classic creamy garlic mash, broccolini, cranberry sauce, house-made cornbread, and pan gravy.

Finish any meal with a fresh slice of warm apple pie à la mode and tangy gooseberry sauce, or a festive digestif off the winter drink menu.

Tucked just inside the Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg, Blaze is accessible via downtown Winnipeg’s sky walks making it a cozy choice for a corporate lunch or a quant holiday gathering – the private dining room can accommodate up to 25 people. It also means you don’t need to don a jacket if you’re meeting for dinner and drinks before heading to Bell MTS Place, or the RBC Convention Centre.
