Winnipeg is a four-season city. We host indoor and outdoor festivals, events and parties no matter what the forecast holds.
While summer may be winding down, the city's fall food season is ramping up.
Loads of autumn harvest parties, events and fundraisers are all on the horizon.
Taste the Village—an outdoor party celebrating Osborne Village's dynamic food and restaurant scene—runs Saturday October 12 from 11a.m. to 6 p.m..
This family friendly event includes cooking demonstrations, chef battles and food sampling from a variety of area restaurants.
The Village, as locals call it, is a veritable United Nations of cuisine. Italian, Australian, Japanese, Thai, Manitoba Regional, global fusion and Mexican bites are all on the menu.
Festival goers can buy tasting tickets in $10, $15 and $25 denominations.
Participating restaurants include: Buccaccinos; Billa Bong Gastropub; Kawaii Crepe; Bankok Thai; Sukothai; Tea Story; Fude; The Cheer; and Carlos and Murphy's.
The 7-hour party also features free family activities including horse-drawn carriage rides, pumpkin decorating and face painting.
