Elephant & Castle, one of Winnipeg's popular downtown pubs, reopened May 1 after major renovations.
Located inside the Delta Hotel, Elephant & Castle has long been a well-loved spot for locals and visitors. The restaurant has been updated and refreshed, delivering a modern drinking room vibe rather than a olde English tavern.
The menu has also been given a update to reflect the times. Combined with the redesign, owners believe the new restaurant will hit the mark.
"The redesign reflects our desire to grow with the community and stay in tune with the evolving needs of our loyal customers," says Kevin Morin, area manager for FranWorks, which owns and operates Elephant and Castle.
Pub classics like fish and chips, bangers and mash, meatloaf and butter chicken are served alongside five poutine varieties, burgers, sandwiches and wraps. Salads, soups, and small bites like fried pickles and truffle parm potato crisps round out the menu. On May 12, the pub also introduced a Summer Fresh menu that includes Thai coconut mussels and satay chicken club, among other seasonal dishes. (The Summer Fresh menu is available for a limited time.)
Elephant & Castle is open seven days a week starting at 11 a.m. It closes at midnight on Sundays; 1 a.m. Monday to Thursday; and 2 a.m. on Saturdays.
