The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra New Music Festival has garnered international recognition and praise for its week long festival of contemporary music. In the Festival’s 20-year history, it has forged global links and has presented hundreds of World, North American and Canadian premieres. Highlighting this year are distinguished guest composers Kaija Saariaho, Jóhann Jóhannson and Nico Muhly and distinguished guest artists Jenny Koh (violin) as well as Shauna Rolston (cello) performing the world premiere of WSO Composer-in-Residence Vincent Ho’s Cello Concerto.
