The Manitoba Museum can help visitors gain an appreciation of how man hastravelled from one place to another over time and see how transportation modes have changed our universe throughout history.

Follow the Red River north to Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site and see the York boats that carried the voyageurs to the Hudson Bay. It is a fascinating tale of strength and endurance. Or stop at Fort Gibraltar, a replica of the fur trading fort, from where it all began.

Day 2
Learn how the railway changed the face of Western Canada and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Prairie Dog Central Railway train depot where you can ride one of North America’s oldest steam locomotives. Or board the Paddlewheel River Boat and cruise Winnipeg’s waterways.

Then, visit those daring young men and their flying machines at the Western Canada Aviation Museum where the pioneer aviators of the north take you on an inspirational journey through time.

And for some gaming entertainment, stop at McPhillips Station Casino, set in the opulent splendor of the grand old days of the railway. It is one of Winnipeg’s two casinos, offering great food, light snacks, live entertainment shows and games of chance.
