For many decades following the arrival of the Selkirk settlers, Point Douglas was the most prestigious location in Winnipeg in which to live. Situated on an attractive peninsula of land with the river winding around it, the colonists
had easy access to the Hudson Bay post for supplies, drinking water, and transportation. Its citizens were the future leaders of Winnipeg.

The tour begins from Ross House Museum in Joe Zuken Heritage Park and is approximately 45 minutes long. No admission fee. Reservations for a minimum group of four and a maximum of 15 are required.

Season runs July and August from Wednesday to Sunday.
