• Downtown Winnipeg at The Forks - the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers;
• A meeting place for Aboriginal people for thousands of years;
• A North American centre of immigration, trade, commerce and, most importantly, the place where First Nations Peoples first came to resolve conflict and live together in peace.

About the Museum:

• Canada's first national museum outside of the National Capital Region - opening in 2012.
• An "Idea" Museum - focused on participation and engagement with issues past, present and future - throughout Canada and the world.
• Ever-changing and dynamic content woven together by master exhibit designers in an architecturally magnificent building designed by Antoine Predock.
• The use of technology, new media, and the arts, as well as artifacts, will offer visitors something unique and different with each visit.
• Total area is 260,000 square feet, featuring 47,000 square feet of exhibit space connected by nearly a kilometer of bridges leading to the Tower of Hope, a 20 storey glass structure overlooking the prairie horizon.
