Whether you spend a little or a lot, Winnipeg has so much to offer!

When I was a kid, money was tight, but somehow my parents always found affordable things around the city to keep us entertained. One particular memory that stands out takes place when I was about five years old. My older brother really wanted to go to a Jets game but we weren't able to get tickets. So, my parents strapped us into our old Chevy, turned on CJOB and took us for a drive, Winnipeg style. While we listened to Curt Kielback on the radio and cheered on our Jets from our carseats, we cruised around town and did some sightseeing in our very own city. It happened to be February at the time so Festival du Voyageur ice sculptures were a main attraction as we made our way to VJ's Drive-in on Main Street for some burgers and fries. I know that the memories that I have of this night are just as awesome as they would have been had we gone to the game, and it just goes to show that whether you spend a little or a lot, our great city has so much to offer!
