I love our Winnipeg Jets!

Even though the Winnipeg Jets were gone from our city for 15 years, they still lived on in our hearts. We all hoped that they would one day return, even if it wasn’t The Phoenix Coyotes; we just wanted a team to love and call our own.

After all, all us Canadians do is talk funny, put Maple Syrup on everything and play hockey (according to stereotypes, not saying I believe them ha ha) It was only right that we have our beloved Jets back and I believe we have proved to the world that we deserve them more than anyone!

I remember going to games with my dad as a child, I believe I was 5 the last game that he took me to and I still have the Kids Jersey that he purchased for me to wear to the games. In fact, the day it was announced that The Jets would be returning to Winnipeg I pulled that same kids jersey on. Yes, the sleeves only reach my elbows, and yes… the bottom of it sits snug above my belly button, but, IT STILL FITS! Please, before you cringe at that mental picture, I’m a female.

I then headed out to the Forks Square Marketplace for the party that eventually moved to Portage Avenue and Main Street, causing the Winnipeg Police to shut down that intersection. I got a lot of compliments on my jersey, most saying that it was absolutely awesome that I was still able to wear it, as I laughed along with them. Well, if you can’t tell I’ve been a Winnipeg Jets fan since I was a young child and I will always be a fan till I die. I’ve never lost faith and neither has our city, we LOVE our Winnipeg Jets!
