I love Winnipeg Bombers

One of my favourite memories of Winnipeg happened when I was eight years old. My father and I had come into the city from Killarney to go see a Bomber game. I had never been to a Bomber game before and I was/am a huge fan. I had even written into a t.v. show called Thrill of a Lifetime (old show) in the child-like hope of meeting my then hero Dieter Brock (#5)—to no luck. Well, my father and I drove into the city and swung by the Bomber office to pick up our tickets. I decided to go in with him. Suddenly, as we were going into the building--- guess who was coming out?! It was Dieter Brock. I was in absolute shock. He smiled and said hi and my father mentioned that I was a big fan. Dieter then shook my hand. I will never forget that. In retrospect, I should have asked for an autograph...but the memory will stay with me forever. Any way, I felt like I was on top of the world and was in awe sitting in the stands at Winnipeg Stadium watching the Bombers play the Ottawa Roughriders the next day. I remember how huge the stadium seemed to me. It was/is a very good memory.
