There is no shortage of places to go as a family in Winnipeg. The long list of my children's favourite activities or destinations includes:

• the tipis, bison, prairie dogs, tree fort and bug catching opportunities at FortWhyte Alive
• the sand and water area in the children's playground at Assiniboine Park
• the huge sand pile and children's area at the Winnipeg Folk Festival
• the Nonsuch Ketch and Science Gallery at The Manitoba Museum
• the train at the Manitoba Children's Museum
• the roller coaster at Tinkertown
• the indoor play areas at the YMCA's and the many outdoor play structures throughout the city
• the various toboganing hills on winter days
• animal and science films at the downtown IMAX
• the free movies and great book selection at the libraries
• the ice cream and bridge at the Bridge Drive-In
• the fun of driving at Cartown
• the playful monkeys at the zoo
• the plays and street performers at the Fringe Festival
• the weekly neighbourhood festivals throughout the summer with face painting, bouncers, petting zoos, music, etc.
• cooling off at the waterslides, water parks and wading pools
