Our mission is to facilitate a healthy, prosperous, responsible and fully-integrated tourism industry that enhances the city of Winnipeg’s economic growth, increases visitation and delivers the best possible visitor experience.
We lead the city’s destination sales and marketing efforts, conduct tourism research, act as the industry’s advocate and liaison, create partnership opportunities, collaborate with industry, leverage travel media, lead city bids and proposals and provide visitor information. Tourism Winnipeg is focused on business development that attracts meetings, conventions, sports and special events, travel trade and leisure visitors.
Tourism is a key economic driver for the city of Winnipeg, generating more than 12,000 jobs, and representing approximately 2.8 million visitors each year resulting in an estimated $506 million in direct expenditures.

Master Tourism Plan
Winnipeg’s tourism plan targets growth from 2011-2016 by promoting Winnipeg a desirable location for meetings, conventions, business, travel trade, sports and special events, as well as a destination for leisure travelers. Promotional efforts highlight a wide array of meeting venues, sport facilities and accommodations, along with unique and easily accessible attractions and services that provide year-round experiences with exceptional value and broad-based appeal.
